The most romanticised part of creative work is the beginning. The rooftop moment. The napkin sketch. The scene where the protagonist finally puts pen to paper.

The most useful part is the end. Finishing is where the ambition meets the friction. It is where the good idea becomes an object other people can touch.

Everything that gets celebrated in creative work is downstream of a single decision: to release something imperfect on time, rather than something perfect too late. The people you watch and admire are almost never more talented than the people you don't. They just finish more often.

This is not a call to lower the standard. It is a call to move the standard closer to the middle of the work, where you can actually see it.
